Turtle Beach Vulcan II Max — Optical-Mechanical RGB Gaming Keyboard
The Vulcan II Max is Turtle Beach's flagship full-size gaming keyboard, built on technology inherited from Roccat (acquired by Turtle Beach in 2019) and engineered to deliver premium performance, deep customization, and standout style for serious PC gamers.
At its core are exclusive TITAN II Optical switches, a linear switch design that combines a smooth, ultra-fast actuation with real mechanical feel. Each switch is rated for 200 million keystrokes, requires a moderate 45g of force to actuate, and has a 1.4mm pre-travel distance, fast enough for competitive play, yet comfortable for extended typing sessions without finger fatigue. Pre-lubed stabilizers keep every keystroke smooth and rattle-free, and the switches are compatible with most third-party cross-shaped stem keycaps, so you can personalize the look further if you choose (note: the switches themselves are soldered in and not hot-swappable).
Where the Vulcan II Max really sets itself apart is in its Smart Key system. Twenty-four multi-function keys each carry a dedicated secondary LED, letting you see at a glance when a second function layer is active. Paired with Easy-Shift [+] button duplicator technology, this effectively doubles your available key-binds, unlocking a near-limitless range of macros, shortcuts, and custom commands, ideal for gamers who want more control without needing a separate macro pad. Up to five custom profiles, covering both lighting and key reassignments, can be saved directly to the keyboard's onboard memory, so your setup travels with you across PCs.
Lighting is handled through Turtle Beach's AIMO illumination technology, which runs at double the refresh rate of a standard gaming keyboard for smoother, more vibrant RGB effects. The keyboard ships with a detachable, translucent silicone palm rest that catches and diffuses the RGB glow right out of the box, adding both comfort and visual flair to your setup. AIMO lighting can also sync across other compatible Turtle Beach and Roccat peripherals, letting you build a fully coordinated RGB ecosystem on your desk.
Practical features round out the package: three dedicated media keys (rewind, play/pause, fast-forward) sit alongside a tactile volume knob with push-to-mute, so you can control playback and audio without ever leaving your game. The keyboard's structure is reinforced with an anodized aluminum top plate for added durability and resistance to wear, while the overall chassis remains full-size for a complete, standard-layout typing experience.
Physically, the Vulcan II Max measures 18.23 x 9.29 x 1.32 inches and weighs approximately 2.86 lbs with the palm rest attached solidly built, though not designed for portability. It connects via a wired USB interface, and because of its lighting and Smart Key features, it requires two USB-A ports on your PC to function fully.
Finished in black, the Vulcan II Max is designed for gamers and enthusiasts who want a keyboard that performs under pressure, looks the part with striking customizable RGB, and offers the kind of deep programmability that keeps pace with competitive and creative workflows alike.
